Viognier “Le Verger”
Minervois, France
“Le Verger” refers to the beautiful apricot orchard that is close to the vineyards that produce our Viognier.
Origin/Location
Our Viognier grapes come from vineyards in the village of Argeliers that is located in the hills of the Minervois appellation. The slightly cooler climate and gravelly soils help enhance the lovely aromatics of the Viognier grape.
Winemaking
After a short skin maceration and gentle pressing, the juice stays at 0°C for ten days before fermentation takes place in order to produce and enhance its fruity aromas. Fermentation is maintained at 13°C to express all the aromatic potential and to bring balance to the wine. After that, the wine stays on its lees to achieve body and optimal expression. No oak was used during the winemaking process.

Tasting Notes + Food Paring
So often Viognier is over oaked and loses it wonderful delicate charm. Our Viognier “Le Verger” is completely unoaked and therefore bright with lovely aromas of peaches, pears and honeysuckle that lead to a palate that is fresh and crisp but packed with fruit. Wonderful as an aperitif or with any fish or pasta dishes and excellent with a great chicken dish.
